Jordan & Naomi - Dapper & Bride Showcase

“They was absolutely amazing”

Depending on the couple, wedding plans can start three years or three months before the big day lands. I once met a bride who hadn’t made a single start and her wedding was literally three weeks away. Yep, you heard me. Three weeks.

You’ll never know when you’ll come across a great find during your wedding planning, so when this bride found Dapper & Bride in July 2018 (although her and her boo Jordan weren’t getting hitched until 2020) and after a convo with her lovely mum, Naomi and I buckled in and prepared for the long-haul wedding ride we’d be journeying along together, touching base here and there and ensuring that my growing business accommodated my brides and grooms as the new ideas and changes came.

I honestly can’t believe it’s beenmore than two years since booking. The time really does zoom by!

Naomi and Jordan got married at the luxury Stoke By Nayland Hotel in Essex in March 2020; A lucky escape from what would be a quite startling months to follow with the lockdown and social distancing!

Their Personalised Wedding Magazine

Probably one of my youngest couples, Naomi was fantastic to work with throughout. Their magazine colours were pink and ivory – to match their wedding theme and featured popular content such as the wedding agenda/wedding day timeline, wedding order of service, hen and stag do, seating plan and their main love story.

The Cover:
Many people get confused when there’s a couple on the cover that ‘looks like they’re married’ but are having the magazine at the wedding day. Well, in this instance, it just some happened that the pair were at another wedding and Naomi was a part of the bridal party! Fitting wouldn’t you say.

One of my fave pages to create is the wedding day agenda page. I get to see all the little surprises that are in store for guests should they happen and most importantly – the flavour of the wedding cake. Jordan and Naomi had vanilla buttercream; a classic! The music for the bridal procession for the ceremony was Endless Love by Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross – classic! The signing of the register was accompanied by the all the time great Stevie Wonder’s Signed Sealed Delivered and they exited of course to the soft and sparkly L.O.V.E by Natalie Cole.

I loved that there was a clear time the party would get started and I’m sure you tell by the photos, the wedding party would have made the most fabulous entrance at 5.30pm!

The hen and stag events took part in Liverpool for the bride to be and her hens and the lads headed off to Portugal for some bachelor fun and although, after a ‘little incident’ only 6 of the 27 groom-to-be squad survived the boot from the hotel, the celebrations continued throughout their time there!

The Holmes’ Wedding / Breakfast Menu was simple yet had a real comfort food vibe. For the starter they served wedding guests potato and leek soup, for the main course; roast beef with potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding and for dessert (my fave of any part of any menu) salted caramel wedding cake! Yum!

Their seating plan names were music inspired from Beyonce’s Crazy in Love to Nat King Cole’s When I Fall in Love and Billy Ocean’s Red Light Spells Danger! Check back in for a table plan Spotify playlist really soon!

In loving memory pages inside a personalised wedding magazine has become more popular as couples can lock in memories of their lost loved ones on their wedding day like no other way.

You can meet and marry on social media – who’d have thought?
Several of my brides and grooms have met on social media and these two were no exception! Their love story was super cute and my favourite thing was the laughter they share together!

“Highly recommend 100%”- Naomi Holmes

Let’s Talk Wedding Day!
So, one thing I always ask my couples for are photos of Dapper & Bride in action on their wedding day. Not only do I get to see my little baby prints in the hands of all the wedding guests that I had been imagining during their conception, but it’s a huge and important opportunity for me to be able to share the experience with potential brides and grooms who want to get a better idea of what a personalised wedding magazine is all about and how having one could not only make your wedding day even more memorable, but how it would benefit it also.

If I’m really lucky I’ll receive an email some weeks or months later and on the flip side (of when my brides or grooms open their emails to see their wedding magazines for the first time and are gobsmacked), it’s now my turn for someone to start cutting onions in the run up to me having a solo Kleenex party.

I opened my email to see this showstopping photo! It was so beautiful and just gorgeous from the colours and tones, the dresses and the entire girl squad in tow. To see my wedding magazines in each hand with the different expressions was such a moment for me! It’s definitely one of my favourites! Not only that there was footage too? Eekkk!

Jordan and Naomi looked so cute together and you could tell there was so much love in the room that day. Naomi told me the day was perfect and everything went great!
