Sophie & Simon - Dapper & Bride Showcase
“You really transformed the design and feel of our wedding. We loved working with you!”
Joined by a host of lovely guests - who definitely know how to have a good time (see the vid below), Sophie and Simon exchanged nuptials in early June 2019 in the Northallerton at All Saints Church.
It seems such a long time since first speaking to them; I was actually overseas for a few months when I got their first email in 2018. I loved that this was a young couple who had a clear vision and concept about their wedding. They were super laid back and it was clear AND appreciated that they trusted my work. They wanted to keep it simple, and effective and I thoroughly enjoyed working with them.
My fave thing about editing this video was discovering that the mags could fit in blazer pockets. I call the above video 'No Mag Left Behind' because come rain or shine, guests held on to them throughout the day. How many times can you spot a copy? Uploading close ups/stills and captions behind it. I had a blast doing it. I love what I do. Sometimes I need a reminder. This was it.
“Not Too Much Pink”
They shared they were having a Route Master bus to transport guests and wanted to incorporate the London Underground roundels as their main theme of their wedding stationery. Colours were pink and gold… “Not too much pink,” I remember Simon saying! 😂
“Amazing designs and a really innovative idea.”
Simon and Sophie requested a full top to bottom wedding print service, which I always revel in. 😊
The complete range included their custom tri-fold wedding invitations, which folded down into a 148x148 envelope, wedding signage; mounted A2 their photo booth and single print for their candle lit area for loved ones lost. Their table names were centred around their favourite train stations including Kings Cross St Pancras, Manchester Picadilly, Northallerton, Leamington Spa and Lille.
Their place cards, although a smaller space also coordinated with the rest of the prints with the London Underground theme.
“The guests (particularly the ladies) like the way everything matched and the theme and colours ran throughout everything.”
THEIR WEDDING MAGAZINE
Of course they had a personalised wedding magazine 😎-one of the most functional I've done so far. In unique fashion they added a 9pm Pizza feast to their wedding agenda, and had a full on wedding squad showcase so everyone had a clear idea of who was who! The headline for their hen and stag ‘Men in Black VS Tea & Tropicana’ (see the gallery below -top right) pretty much wrote itself! They really went for it!
The Legrand-Green feature story shared the most ADORABLE proposal EVER. Imagine receiving a love letter for each day of the week and by the Sunday, when Sophie put them all together, the first letter of each (letter) spelled out M-A-R-R-Y-M-E 😭😭😭😭 Eeeeekkkkkkkkkkk! My all time favourite feature in this issue of Dapper & Bride was the floorplan (Bottom left in the gallery below). Hands down. First of all, the venue space at https://middletonlodge.co.uk/ was brilliant. My eyes popped out of my head when Sophie listed all the things they had in store for their guests; snooker room, cinema room, grand piano, string quartet, library AND cellar bar, plus the flower wall for the Instagram snaps, not forgetting the croquet outside on the lawn. We talked about having the map, but I wanted to entice the guests and encourage them to explore all there was to do and not miss anything, so we added a ‘things to do’ list.
